The IFFAS 2028 Executive Committee provides strategic leadership and oversight for the conference, bringing together experienced professionals dedicated to delivering a world-class event.
Dr David Lunz
Dr. David Lunz specialises in disorders of the foot and ankle. He specialises in all aspects of adult foot and ankle reconstructive surgery including arthroscopic ankle surgery and ankle sports injuries.
He trained in orthopaedic surgery in Sydney where he obtained his FRACS and then did a 6-month fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at North Shore Private Hospital. Thereafter he completed a 12-month fellowship at the renowned Texas Medical Centre in Houston in foot and ankle surgery under Prof. Thomas O. Clanton.

Dr David Shepherd
David Shepherd BSc(Hons), MBBS, FRACS, FAOrthaA, is an Orthopaedic surgeon, specialising in Foot and Ankle Surgery since 2012, with post-graduate fellowships in Oxford and Lyon.
He is a member of the Melbourne Orthopaedic Group, with particular interest in Total Ankle Replacement, complex deformity and Foot and Ankle instability reconstructive techniques. He is on the Australian AOFAS Ankle Arthritis Committee.
His previous appointments include Secretary of the Victorian Orthopaedic Association, Deputy
Director of Orthopaedics, Head of Training and AOA Board of Studies member.
David has clinical appointments at Western Health, Victoria in Foot and Ankle surgery, and Trauma.
David is a Supervisor of the MOG/ Western Foot and Ankle Fellowship for post-graduate fellows aiming to specialise in Foot and Ankle Surgery.

Dr Peter Stavrou
Peter Stavrou MBBS, FRACS, FAOrthA is an Australian trained Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon. After completing his Orthopaedic training in 2003, he undertook further fellowship training in Toronto and Brisbane.
Since returning to Adelaide in 2005, Dr Stavrou has worked in both private practice and in the public system including as Director of Orthopaedic training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Since 2006, he has been principal supervisor of an Australian Orthopaedic Association accredited fellowship program.
Dr Stavrou has an active interest in research and teaching, regularly publishing and has presented at numerous Australian and international meetings. He is the Clinical Advisor for ankle replacements to the Australian Orthopaedic Association National Joint Replacement Registry (AOA NJRR).
Dr Stavrou is the Immediate past President of the Australian Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) and on the organising committee for the IFFAS (International Federation of Foot and Ankle Societies) meeting in Sydney 2028.

Dr Brian Martin
Dr Brian Martin is an Australian trained orthopaedic surgeon. He attained the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2010 and he is a current Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association (FAOrthA) as well as a member of the Australian Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS).
Dr Martin has been working for over a decade in the university teaching hospital at Nepean Public Hospital in Sydney as well as privately at Norwest Hospital and the Sydney Adventist Hospital.
He has a particular interest in the management of diabetic foot complications especially infection management and Charcot foot reconstruction.

Mr Tony Danesh-Clough
Dr Tony Danesh-Clough did his medical and orthopaedic training in New Zealand and was awarded fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2003.
Following this he undertook a sports medicine fellowship and then an arthroplasty fellowship in London, Ontario. He completed a Foot and Ankle fellowship with Dr Mark Myerson in Baltimore, Maryland.
He has been working in private practice in Auckland, New Zealand since 2006. He also works in a public hospital post at Waitemata, Health NZ as a Consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon. He is an honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Auckland involved in the training of medical students, residents, and fellows.
He is a member of the New Zealand Orthopaedic Association, international member of AOFAS, and the current President of the New Zealand Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. He is also a Southern Federation representative on the executive committee of the International Federation of Foot and Ankle Societies.

Dr Jacques Jonck
Dr Jacques Jonck is an orthopaedic surgeon with a dedicated interest in foot and ankle surgery. He completed his MB,ChB at Stellenbosch University and his orthopaedic training at Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town, becoming a Fellow of the College of Orthopaedic Surgeons of South Africa. He went on to a fellowship in adult foot and ankle reconstruction at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore under Dr Mark Myerson.
He currently serves as President of the South African Foot Surgeons Association and sits on the medical advisory board of Steps2Walk, an international humanitarian program advancing foot and ankle care worldwide.
